Atlanta, Georgia is filled with great events year-round. The Holiday Season, however, is one of the main times of the year for great events. Plenty of incredible Christmas events are held from the day Thanksgiving ends through the end of the year. Here’s a look at what you can expect throughout Atlanta for the holiday season this year.
The Children’s Christmas Parade
One of the most popular Christmas events every year, the Children’s Christmas Parade will be held on December 2nd from 10:30am to 12pm this year. It’s known as The Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Christmas Parade and it’s the largest holiday parade in all of the southeast.
Enjoy plenty of floats, incredible balloons, marching bands and so much more. Reserve bleacher seats are available in advance and it’s best to take MARTA to the parade as parking can be a bit of a nightmare.
Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Holiday Concerts
The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will hold multiple concerts for the holiday season. Attending one of these concerts will allow you to get in the holiday spirit. Concerts include the following options:
Disney’s Broadway Hits – November 2th and 26th
This concert will include plenty of the classic hits from Disney with songs from Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Tarzan, The Lion King and so much more. The music includes nine Tony Award and Academy Award-winning scores.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in Concert – November 30th and December 1st and 2nd
A wonderful concert exploring every note from the movie, this one is perfect for the Harry Potter fans in your family.
Family Holiday Concert – December 3rd
With music from The Snowman Movie and other score, such as The Four Seasons, Winter and Nutcracker Overture, this concert will put you in the holiday mood for sure.
Christmas with the ASO – December 9th and 10th
This annual concert features the Morehouse College Glee Club and the Gwinnett Young Singers.
A Very Merry Holiday POPS – December 15th and 16th
Special guests Allison Blackwell, the All-City High School Chorus, The Melodica Men and Joe Gransden and his Big Band will be on hand for this wonderful holiday concert.
Handel’s Messiah Part 1 – December 22nd
A classic with plenty to enjoy, this concert will prepare you for what Christmas has to offer.
Along with these performances, the Atlanta Symphony Hall will host 98-degrees at Christmas on November 29th and the SiriusXM Presents The Brian Setzer Orchestra’s 14th Annual Christmas Rocks Tour on December 6th.
