Sutton Middle School

An authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School offering the Middle Years Programme (MYP) in collaboration with North Atlanta High School. The new state-of-the-art facility includes a conference and meeting center; a new media center; an arts complex which houses the school’s award-winning band and orchestra, art and drama departments and the newly added chorale department, nine science labs, five computer labs, and a performing arts theater.

North Atlanta High School

Offers rigorous academics, well-rounded extra-curricular activities, competitive athletic programs, study abroad opportunities and its own diverse student body.   North Atlanta High School (NAHS) prepares students to engage in the wider world that awaits them upon graduation.  NAHS offers the oldest International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme in the southeast.  The IB Programme is widely regarded as the most rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum in the world. The high school is housed in a former IBM office building that was converted for the school.

Yet, Kingswood parents also have the option to enroll their children in esteemed private institutions such as Pace Academy, conveniently situated just across from the neighborhood entrance. Other notable choices in Buckhead include The Westminster School and Atlanta International School, offering a spectrum of educational excellence.

Recreational Escapes and Green Spaces

Chastain Memorial Park

Just a short drive away is the closest green space to Kingswood.  Chastain is the largest city park in Atlanta, Georgia spanning 268-acres near the northern edge of the city.  There are multiple trails for walking, jogging or biking.  The path is asphalt and wheel chair accessible.  Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.  This marvelous park also has a swimming pool, playground, tennis courts and a horse park.

The Chastain Horse Park was built 75 years ago to accommodate the wealthy horse owners in and around Atlanta.  It has evolved into a space where public riding lessons are offered to children and adults along with  horse boarding, riding camps, pony parties and a Therapeutic Riding Program.

You can also find the Chastain Park Amphitheater, a Live Nation venue for concerts from May to September.   There are approximately 30-45 concerts held at the iconic outdoor amphitheater. The capacity is roughly 6,900, with the majority of tickets being reserved seating. There is also limited general admission lawn seating at the back of the amphitheater and at stage right.   Only a small number of seats are covered. Parking is often limited to first-come-first-served customers since Atlanta’s oldest outdoor music venue has become such a prominent part of the city.  Music lovers can enjoy performances by Lady Gaga all the way to Tony Bennet.

Chattahoochee National Recreation Area

Buckhead’s  sanctuary in the city.  This beautiful recreation area is an ideal spot to hike the many elevations overlooking Atlanta’s serene landscapes. Buckhead’s portion of the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area represents over 400 acres of pristine wildlife with 10+ miles of hiking trails, stunning views, and opportunities for water sports such as rafting, kayaking, tubing, and fishing on the Chattahoochee River.

There are three public golf courses in the vicinity of Kingswood— Chastain Park, Bobby Jones and Cross Creek — all within 4 miles of your front door.  Golfers love Chastain Park’s public 18-hole course, where the hilly terrain provides stellar views of the Buckhead skyline.  Chastain Park Golf Course is recommended for golfers who like proximity to downtown and walking non-development layouts. Bobby Jones Golf Course is more than just a revolutionary golf course design, it’s also home to the Grand Slam Golf Academy, the Murray Golf House, Boone’s restaurant, the Cupp Links, and the Dan Yates Putting Course! It’s a “must-visit” in Atlanta!

Located at the very pulse  of Atlanta’s prestigious north-side, Cross Creek Golf Club has something to offer for golfers of all ages. The combination of gently rolling land, ponds , grass mounds and woods makes this a challenging 2,000 yard par 54 course, enjoyable for players of all ability levels
