History

Tucker began as a railroad community in the 1890s. The town’s central location along the Seaboard Air Line Railway was pivotal for its early development.  Many brave pioneers who established Tucker in the early 1800s settled their families here, built our roads, churches, and schools. Descendants of some of these early settlers are still here, as much as eight generations living on their families’ inherited land.

This historical connection continues to influence the community today, with many local businesses and events drawing inspiration from its railroading past.

How’s the Real Estate Market?

The Tucker housing market is very competitive.  Average homes usually sell close to list price and go pending in approximately 16 days.  Be aware that some homes are getting multiple offers and others with waived contingencies.

Hot homes are selling for about 2% above the list price and go pending  around 8 days.

The average home value is $404,503, however you can find condos for under $200,000 making Tucker affordable for first time home buyers.

Most of the neighborhoods have brick ranch style homes.  Many of these homes have been beautifully renovated and updated.  However there are many new developments in and around the city that offer larger traditional style and modern homes.
